Making a booking

We reserve the right to reserve more popular rooms for a minimum of 4 nights stay during busy midweek periods and for 3 nights stay at weekends.We have no way to show this for the online availability, we have to show them as available. If we decline your booking we will destroy your details without charge and notify
you of the reason.
If we accept a Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday booking (two nights) we will normally ask that you pay in full at the time of booking as we have a two night minimum requirement for Saturday nights between June and November and all Bank Holiday weekends.

Mixed Groups or Same Sex Bookings

We do not accept Stag and Hen do’s. We only cater for couples and families. Therefore on agreeing to out terms and conditions on making
a booking with us you are confirming that you are a couple or a family. If you are a family group occupying more than one room details of your relationship to one another will need to be disclosed at the time of reservation. If you make a booking on line and it is accepted when you check in if it is obvious that you are not a couple or a family/family group we will charge for the accommodation and ask you to find alternative accommodation.


We ask for payment of one nights stay in advance if the booking is made more than one week before check in date and the full amount of the booking if the booking is made within one week of check in date. We ask that you pay any balance on arrival.

Cancellation Charges

Bookings cancelled more than 1week(s) before 21;00 on day of check in will incur a charge of the first night stay. Bookings cancelled less than 1 week(s) before 21:00 on the day of check in will incur a charge of 100% of the booking. Cancellation charges will be taken from the details given at time of booking. This will also apply to “No Shows” You can cancel your booking by calling us on 01253 341265 or via e mail at edelweissstchands@ aol.com. All deposits are non refundable.

Check in – Check Out

You can check in at any time after 2pm and up to 9pm. Your room may not be ready until after 2pm but we can store your luggage for you. On check in we prefer that you settle any outstanding account for your full stay. On departure please vacate your room by 10am this will give us time to prepare the room for any arriving guests on the same day. We can store your luggage for you to collect later.


Visitors valuables are left a their own risk. The proprietors accept no responsibility for loss of guests property.

Customer Service

We appreciate your business and are keen to learn ways we can improve things. If you are not happy about any aspect of our service we would like to know.
Please speak to us directly so we can put it right immediately.
The proprietors reserve the right to cancel accommodation if at any time the behaviour of the guests is such that the comfort and enjoyment of others is disturbed
or endangered. In this event you will be asked to leave without entitlement to compensation.
By making a booking with us the person who provides the credit/debit card details agrees that we may charge any credit/debit card for any damage caused accidentally or maliciously to your room or any part of the hotel by any one of your party during your stay.

Smoking Ban

From Sunday 1st July 2007 smoking will be banned from all areas of the hotel. Any guests causing suspicion of smoking in their room will be asked to leave and the booking will be cancelled with all charges due plus a room cleaning/loss of revenue charge of up to 2 nights room rate( a room that smell of smoke may not be able to be re-let until the smell has cleared). If you smoke in the room and we do not identify it until you have checked out your card details will be charged with the additional nights charges as detailed above. This isn’t our choice, but value our Residential Licence to highly to risk getting it revoked.
